Colombian Vinyl Mix

One year ago I was returning to the UK from a month long trip to Colombia, a little more sunkissed, with a bag full of records that i’d picked up along the way. A year later and I find myself sat at the window, eyes closed, soaking in some rare February sunshine and listening to the collection of these records you can hear above. It doesn’t feel like the Caribbean coast of Colombia in Manchester today, but it’s enough to temporarily take me back. I hope the mix of Cumbia, Afro-Latin and Salsa transports you up too.

The video below is from Discolombia in Barranquilla. An amazing place with a rich history, that I found most of the records you hear in the mix.

Guest Mix: Çerikunda & Grup Ses (Turkish Gems, Beats & Edits)

Today, I am excited to share with you a really special guest mix from Çerikunda & Grup Ses.

Together they present the annual “Turkish Diggin’ Report”, a series of mixes of rare and obscure Turkish Folk, Psych, Funk and Rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s. And on 2016s “Alliance” album, Grup Ses twisted snippets of obscure Turkish music into something unique and new.

For this mix, they blend a selection of rare Turkish gems together with new edits and unreleased beats. A serious treat to behold.

Tokyo Sound Land Takeover

It was a really great pleasure to hand over the reigns of the show for a one off Tokyo Sound Land special recently. To support the European Tour dates and the EP from Anchorsong, Daisuke Tanabe and Ametsub Sam from Yuppies Music put together an hour of fantastic music from Tokyo new and old. The Future Sound of Tokyo is here and it’s amazing.
